Updating Your User Contact Information and Email Address

Before you start

The process covered in this article refers to the email address linked to your own individual user profile. This may be different to the primary contact details found in your account settings

Updating the primary contact details in your account settings will not change the email address linked to your user profile. 


Why do I need to keep my email address up to date?

Your Thankyou Payroll account contains highly sensitive information about your business and your employees. We use two-factor authentication (2FA) to check that the person logging in using your details is really you. 

As part of the 2FA process, we send a six digit code to your email address, which needs to be used to log in. This six digit code is sent to the email address associated with your username, so if the email address is incorrect you won't receive the code. 


How do I change my email address?

Your email address can be updated by accessing your User Profile in the top right hand corner of your dashboard.

  1. When logged in to Thankyou Payroll, left-click the green circle in the top right corner of your screen to access your user information.
  2. Left-click on 'Profile' to access your profile settings.

  1. Once in your profile, click on 'Edit' to update the information in this block. You will be able to update:
    1. your email address. This is where your 2FA codes will be sent for logging in. 
    2. your first and last names. 
    3. your mobile phone number.
Please note: You cannot update your password from this screen. Follow this link to find out how to update your password.

Info - Blue Block (1)The personal information updated here applies to your User Profile, so if you are linked to multiple accounts you only need to update this information once. 

 

*Please contact the Customer Support Team if you use different logins to access other accounts. They will provide you with a single login.


How do I update my username if it is my old email address?

  • If your username is the same as your email address, when you update your email address, your username will automatically be updated too.
  • If your username is not the same as your email address, no changes will be made to your username when your email address is updated.
