Waitangi Day is celebrated on the 6th of February,  which falls on a Saturday in 2027.  As this falls on a weekend a Public Holiday will be observed on Monday the 8th February 2027 --- ### Do I need to make changes to my payroll? Saturday 6th February (Waitangi Day) can be a pay day, however **Tuesday** **9th February is not an available pay day** in our system. If your employee works on a public holiday, you are required to pay them **‘time and a half’ or 1.5 x their standard rate for hours worked this day**.
