Please note: Registered Charities and Not-For-Profit Organisations are not the same thing. You can be recognised as a tax-exempt NFP by IRD, but if you are not a registered charity with a valid charity number, you do not qualify for the free payroll services offered by Thankyou Payroll. |
So, when you sign up with Thankyou Payroll, please have the following charity information ready:
- Your registered charity name (as on the registered charities list)
- Your charity number
- Your charity's IRD number
- Your charity must be registered as an employer with the IRD to employ people (which is why you want to use payroll - to pay employees)
- Complete the IR920 that gives Thankyou Payroll authority to act as your PAYE Intermediary. Email the completed and signed form to help@thankyoupayroll.co.nz
- Your physical address and charity bank account details
- Contact details for the person responsible for the payroll
- The email address where the business copy of the payslips and payslip summaries must go to.
Please email the following information to help@thankyoupayroll.co.nz
- A copy of your charity certificate
- The completed IR920
Welcome onboard! We look forward to supporting you while you do good.
