Why can't I create an Overnight Pay?

Updated: April 2024

The pay funding plan you can access has to do with your bank's processing timeframes. If your bank processes payments after our cutoff times, the funds will not arrive and be assigned to your payroll account in time to trigger Overnight or Same-day pays.

To check your bank information, go to the 'Account Settings' tab in the Settings menu.

Is my bank listed for Overnight Payments?

OvernightPaysBankList

  1. If your business bank account is held by one of the banks on the list on the left, Overnight and Same Day funding of pays are available to you as your funds will reach us before the processing cutoff times.
  2. If your business bank account is with a bank on the list on the right, you can fund your pays on 1-day or 2-day plans only. Overnight and Same Day funding of pays will not reach us before the cutoff time.

My bank is listed on the left. Why will the Overnight Pay still not set?

There could be a couple of reasons why a pay will not set. Here are some of the more common things to check:

  1. Is your bank selected from the list? The bank will have a blue dot if selected as in the example below.

  2. Are you setting up this pay after the cutoff time? The cutoff time for Overnight pays is 6 pm, the day before the selected pay day.
  3. Is your desired pay day available in our system? Sundays, Mondays and the day after a public holiday are not available pay days in our system and therefore will not set. You will have to select another available pay day, or get in touch to use our urgent same-day service at an additional charge of $15. Please note that same-day pays are not available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
  4. Do you have Direct Debit functionality activated on your account? Direct Debiting cannot be used to fund Overnight pays. You can still set up the pay and fund this with a manual transfer. Here is a dedicated article to walk you through the steps to do this correctly. Follow option 2 in the article.
  5. Has your account been restricted? If your account has been restricted due to dishonours or non-payment of fees, you will not be able to run pays. A pop-up message will inform you to contact our Customer Support Team and upon receiving the outstanding fees, your account will be reactivated.

If your overnight pay still doesn't set after checking these, please reach out to our Customer Support Team and we will assist you.
